Build Ops is a lead generation service that connects UK homeowners with vetted, independent local builders. We help you find quotes for extensions, loft conversions, bathrooms, renovations, and more.

Question 2

Is Build Ops free to use?

Accepted Answer

Yes, requesting quotes through Build Ops is completely free for homeowners. There are no hidden fees or charges. You simply fill in our form, we connect you with suitable builders, and they provide their quotes directly.

Question 3

How does Build Ops make money?

Accepted Answer

We operate as a lead generation service. Builders pay us a fee for quality leads. This means our service remains completely free for homeowners looking for quotes.

Question 4

How long does it take to receive quotes?

Accepted Answer

Most homeowners receive their first contact from builders within 24-48 hours of submitting a request. The time to receive full detailed quotes depends on the complexity of your project and whether a site visit is needed.

Question 5

How many quotes will I receive?

Accepted Answer

We aim to match you with 2-3 suitable builders based on your project requirements and location. The exact number may vary depending on builder availability in your area.

Question 6

Do I have to accept any of the quotes?

Accepted Answer

No, absolutely not. There's no obligation to proceed with any quote you receive. Take your time to compare options, ask questions, and only move forward when you're completely ready.

Question 7

How do you vet your builders?

Accepted Answer

We work with independent local builders who have demonstrated experience in their trade. However, we strongly recommend all homeowners conduct their own due diligence before proceeding—ask for references, check insurance documentation, and review examples of previous work.

Question 8

Are the builders employed by Build Ops?

Accepted Answer

No. The builders we connect you with are independent tradespeople running their own businesses. Build Ops acts purely as a matchmaking service. We do not employ, supervise, or guarantee the work of any builder.

Question 9

What should I check before hiring a builder?

Accepted Answer

We recommend checking: public liability insurance, relevant trade body memberships (though not required), examples of similar completed projects, references from previous clients, a clear written quote or contract, and payment terms before any work begins.

Question 10

What types of projects can I get quotes for?

Accepted Answer

We cover a wide range of home improvement projects including: house extensions, loft conversions, bathroom renovations, full house renovations, outbuildings, chimney removal, media walls, wall panelling, and general building work.

Question 11

What areas do you cover?

Accepted Answer

Build Ops covers the entire United Kingdom. Whether you're in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh, Cardiff, or anywhere else in the UK, we can connect you with local builders in your area.

Question 12

Question 13

How is my personal data used?

Accepted Answer

Question 14

Can I stop receiving contact from builders?

Accepted Answer
